Some college students looking for jobs in their local community find it more fun to work with a friend… or need a ride! As long as tag-teaming on a local job doesn’t distract you from doing a great job, we’re all for it. Here are some jobs that work well in tandem.

Party help. More hands make lighter work when it comes to setting up, serving food, helping guests, entertaining kids, and cleaning up… so this tends to be the biggest job for working as a pair. Check for these job opportunities in your campus community!

Yard work. It’s raking season! A great one to split with a friend. Many employers are happy to pay the same budgeted amount for two student workers to do the same job in half the time. Bring a friend, get some fresh air, and make some money near campus on a nice autumn day!

Babysitting. Larger families may appreciate having two responsible babysitters for the price of one, and you’ll have company and back-up!

Dog-walking. This is a great job-share opportunity. Many employers need someone to walk their pet on a regular basis. If you can’t quite commit to that, consider sharing this job with a friend. It gives you more flexibility and still allows you to take advantage of an awesome local job opportunity that’s great for college students!

Furniture moving. You and a strong buddy can make serious money moving couches, chairs, and other furniture for local employers around your campus. It’s a great gig to take with a friend.

Respectfully ask an employer if they have a need for two employees. Even if the employer can only hire one, he or she may be willing to have both of you on the job. Split with your friend and you’ll stay make more than you would have staying home!
